The curriculum is the academic program of Connecticut College. It is overseen by the faculty.

The College Catalog is the published record of degree requirements and academic policy, and contains detailed information on every course and academic program.

Curriculum Process

The Academic and Administrative Procedures Committee (AAPC) oversees the curriculum process. Within the bounds of policies established by the faculty, this committee considers: requests for the addition, deletion, or modification of the course offerings of the departments or interdisciplinary programs, and the major; alternative programs for the degree; and changes in administrative procedures; and changes in class meetings and hours.

Curricular changes take the form of either routine changes (such as editing the title or description of a course) or substantial changes (such as changing a course's credit hours or revising the requirements for a major). All curricular changes must be approved by AAPC, and substantial changes must then also be approved by the faculty meeting. See Curriculum Process Approvals.

The Registrar’s Office processes routine curricular changes weekly after AAPC meetings, and substantial changes monthly after faculty meetings. Please allow a few days after approval for changes to appear in the catalog.

Only approved curriculum can be entered into the catalog and made available for class registration to students.

IQ Curriculum Management

The college uses the IQ Curriculum Management system in order to propose, approve, and process all curricular changes. The Office of the Registrar Curriculum Team manages the system, which is available to all faculty members to use. The system can be accessed through CamelWeb, in the For Faculty tab.

To use the IQ system, consult the guides below. Please contact curriculum@conncoll.edu for further assitance or if:

  • There is a problem with the system
  • You do not have access to the system, and you need it
  • Your role changes (e.g. you become department chair)
